CREATION
The Creation legacy found in the book of Genesis relays the message, layered deliberately in wild detail, that you are created, and you are loved.
THE UNIVERSE
Seven days sets the rhythm to the unfolding of the universe. From movement of God on water, to systems set in place of land, sea, air. Life follows; seeds to trees to fruit, day to night, tadpoles to eagles. Population starts with the creatures, each purposed, planned, placed. Woven in a created design observed by our senses and uncovered further by investigative science. The presence of matter, life; the circular movements of nature point to a Creator, the ultimate artist.
HUMANITY
As a crescendo in the creation, God creates humanity as an apex of creativity, the point of purpose. Similar to but separate from the creatures, unique in creation with a distinct purpose of community with the Creator. Copyrighted in the image of God, these beings with capacity for dominion, for relationship and for choice.
RELATIONSHIP
The literal reading of or poetical interpretation of Genesis 1 holds much debate, forming arguments around science versus faith. A debate may illuminate the ideas of how, but a significant question is why. Answered simply by the theme of the 66 books in the bible- relationship with the Creator God.
Our experience of this world is often void of harmony and purpose- because of the broken relationship between Creation and Creator.
